Three Bathing Elephants

    Now, there is the “Three Bathing Elephants”. The mountain on the left seems like a combination of three elephants, which extend their long noses into the stream for taking water to bath. In front of the elephants, there is a monkey holding the peach of immortality to consecrate the elephants. You may question that why the monkey consecrates the peach to elephants? It’s a long story. In those days, the Monkey King caused havoc on the Peach Banquet. When he was drinking the liquors and eating the flat peaches, he wanted to bring those to his monkeys in the Flowers and Fruit Mountain for enjoyment. So, he dropped one pot of wine onto the 19 Peaks. The wine pot from the Heavenly Palace was over 20 meters high. But monkeys were too weak to open it. Thus, they asked the elephants living in the deep valley for help. For the reason that elephants valued honesty and veracity, they were unwilling to help. They rejected the monkeys. However, the monkeys were reluctant to give up. So, they presented elephants the peach of immortality as a gift. This peach was different from those ordinary ones. It was dropped by Money King from the Heavenly Palace into Shegu Village, Chengtan Town, Xinchang County. As time went by, it yielded fresh and fragrant fruits. One of the three elephants was so greedy that its nose had lowered down. But it still resisted against the greediness and was unwilling to open the wine pot.
